Get Involved With CVALA

There are many different ways to get involved with our organization, including serving as a member of our board, volunteering time for events or temporary programs, or applying for one of our internship or job opportunities (as available).

Check out the links below for more information on how you can help us help others.

Board

Volunteer Board Member

The CVALA Board of Directors operates as a policy board and has several active committees. Our meetings are held once a month and are typically two hours in length.

The length of service is one year in duration with nominations occurring each October at our Annual General Meeting, although a board member can join anytime throughout the year. Board members are reimbursed for travel expenses and a light supper is always provided at meetings.

Job Opportunities

Thanks to the generosity and support of our funding partners, including the government of New Brunswick, we are able to offer temporary paid internship positions through the academic term. These positions vary in terms of job length and field, so make sure to check back from time to time to see what positions are available.

We also occasionally have open positions for both English and French adult teachers.

Casual/Temporary Volunteer

As a not-for-profit organization, CVALA hosts many different fundraising events; in the past, we've held everything from BBQs and Bake Sales to Polar Bear Dives and Galas. These events depend on building a team of dedicated individuals with a wide scope of talents working together.

Additionally, from time to time we run temporary programs that benefit from having in-class volunteers and facilitators.
