Canadian Adult Education Credential Preparation Program
The Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) is the official Canadian adult high school equivalency credential and is accepted by many employers, training programs, and post-secondary institutions.
Our program prepares learners to successfully complete the five CAEC exams through personalized instruction and flexible learning options available in-class or through distance learning.
Program Overview
Free & Flexible Learning
There is no cost to participate. Full-time, part-time, evening, and distance learning options may be available depending on location and seat availability.
The CAEC distance program is designed for self-motivated learners who are comfortable working independently from home with teacher support and regular check-ins. It is not a traditional online classroom with scheduled daily virtual classes.
Start Anytime
Registration is open year-round and learners progress at their own pace.
Completion timelines vary depending on a learner’s starting level, attendance, previous education, and whether they qualify for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) credits.
Small Classes & One-on-One Support
Our program offers small class sizes and one-on-one support to help learners build confidence and succeed.
Subjects Covered
All 5 required CAEC test subjects: Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, and Writing.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
Some learners may qualify for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR), which may provide credit for previously completed high school courses and reduce the number of CAEC subjects required.

English Language Requirements
CAEC classes are delivered in English (or French). Learners whose first language is not English are generally expected to have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 6 or higher before beginning classes.
Please note that CAEC exams are written at approximately a CLB 7 level. Learners below this level may benefit from additional English language upgrading before entering the program or attempting the tests.
