How do I register for the CAEC tests?
Create an account through the Vretta testing platform and register for available test sessions there.
Do I need to take classes before writing the tests?
No. Learners can study independently or join a preparation program.
Is the preparation program free?
Yes. CAEC preparation classes through CVALA are free for eligible learners.
Is CAEC testing free?
Yes. CAEC testing through our testing centre is free for eligible New Brunswick residents.
Where are classes offered?
Our classes are offered in Fredericton, Oromocto, Kingsclear, and through distance learning options.
Are part-time classes available?
Yes. Full-time, part-time, evening, and distance learning options are available depending on location and availability.
Can previous high school credits count?
Possibly. Some learners may qualify for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) or the Adult High School Diploma.
What age do I need to be to join CAEC classes?
Learners must be at least 18 years old to enroll in classes.
Is there an English language requirement for classes?
Yes. Learners joining English CAEC classes must have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 6 in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
What English level are the CAEC tests?
The CAEC tests are written at approximately a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7.
