Matt's Story

Why Getting The GED Is Important To Me
Finishing school has always been my number one priority, and for the first time in my life I am taking it seriously. I am 29 years old and I think it’s about time that I get this done because I have been procrastinating. The older I get the more difficult it will be. The main reason I haven’t completed school yet is because of the need to work and support myself financially. When I was 18 years old my mother passed away and that made things difficult for me. At that point, I decided to quit school to look for work. As I got older that’s when I realized that dropping out of school was a bad idea. The older I got and the more mature I felt I was, the more important it was for me to finish school. I later found out a lot of jobs require a high school equivalency and the GED seemed like a perfect alternative. I have been waiting a long time to finish school and I made a promise to my Mother that I would finish. So, this means more than anything to me. I am not just doing this for myself but also for my Mom. Having a GED certificate will not only make it easier to take a University program but it will make it easier to get a good job, and women like an educated man!
